I don't know where I saw it, but I picked up this neat little trick; I use straw in the hen house, and it gets packed down and in places, like under the roost, it gets a layer of poo, so I take a hand full of mash about once a week and scatter it in the hen house, prompting the chickens to stir it up. This keeps it relatively fresh and I only have to clean it out twice a year. Pretty cool :) Pretty girls!

Those look like happy hens!
My hen house needs cleaned too, but we're tackling the flower beds today.
