Beautiful things

We don't see a lot of icicles here, so these hanging from the eaves of the Sheep Sheraton are a treat.

That's right, it's our first three-egg day of 2011 - hurray! Lucy started laying again this week, joining the precocious Speckled Sussex and Morgan.

From the gifted hands of Ed and Wanda Jenkins to my little spindle stable. Meet "Holly," my Aegean spindle, nestled in the sample fiber she came with. The olivewood Aegean I got is winging its way to Italy to be fully appreciated for her heavily patterned beauty, while this Aegean crafted from holly makes my heart sing with her more subtle charms.

As my blogpal Bill says, life is GOOD!

That's it for now from . . .

Oh Michelle,
Your spindle is beautiful, as are that trio of eggs! Now the icicles...well we have our own crop. :) Yesterday morning was the coldest it's ever been up here, minus 5F. Even the icicles had their own icicles!

We didn't get any snow here - well maybe an inch yesterday that was gone by noon today - but it has been so bitterly cold - northeaster wind blowing about 4 mph every day for 4 days just freeze dried everything. We are supposed to shear on Wednesday, but the weather doesn't look too promising - lambs are only a couple of weeks away, so we need to do it this week. I'm so ready for winter to be over.

Also - so sorry to read about Russell's ailment - how do they do stuff like that? How disappointing for you to have worked so hard and not be able to compete. XOX T.

I am amazed at what a difference the wood makes. I bought two Jenkins shuttles and one is only usable on a very wide warp because it is so heavy. On the other hand, it's perfect for that use. If you were looking the two, you'd never know they were different. I totally understand.
