Back to our regular programming

Our garden grows! Radishes and onions are up now.

The focus here is the fancy fence, not the fading tulips. This bed is just outside our garage access door, and the fence is to "redirect traffic" so Jackson can no longer tear through it, doing heavy damage.

Speaking of fence, Rick has been working to re-fence our middle pasture, thanks to some posts and wire a client was getting rid of.

This is the scene which greeted me in the fold this chilly morning. It did my heart good to see Blake cuddled up with someone!

Yes, things are looking brighter at . . .

So glad things are looking up! Blake and Banjo are two handsome gents! Your garden looks great! Mine is all up, but you can't see it for the maple "spinnys" and I'm embarassed to take a picture! ;)

I had left a comment on the list but not here about Brava. I am so sorry for your loss. What a brave girl to hold on to give you that fine ram lamb and raise him until he was old enough to do well on his own. With the other triplets being stillborn maybe she was not well for a while. He is stunning and I hope he gives you many sweet lambs in the future to remember her by.

I always love your photography. Looks like you have pretty nice soil. For some reason I equate darker with healthier. Maybe that's because our southern red clay is notoriously poor!

Thanks, Leigh. Our soil type is "red jory," which is supposed to be a decent type for some things. My husband used to call it red clay but it's not. We've amended our garden with quite a bit of composted horse manure, but it could always benefit from more.
