Nightmare

There's a monster in the house. I just saw its tendrils this evening - after several years without a trace. I had successfully convinced myself that we had banished the beast after a skirmish with our contractor over its very existence - and then some demolition and reconstruction to vanquish it. I haven't even had a chance to tell Rick yet; he's been gone all afternoon and evening on emergencies. I could easily slip into a panic attack, but that would accomplish nothing but raising my cortisol level. So right now I'm basically sticking my fingers in my ears and going "la la la" until he gets home.

Oh look! Pretty flowers!
Oh look! Pretty sheep! Those are two of my "show sheep" (black Bodhran is the third). I never expect to finish in the ribbons with my sheep; like I've said, I show as a marketing tool. But wouldn't it be something if handsome Blake placed at Black Sheep Gathering? (I'm praying his bite straightens out by then.) I think I would break right down and cry in the ring!

Maybe I'll go sit with my sheep until Rick gets home. Much easier to ignore the monster when I'm not in the house. La la la la la la la.

That's it for now from . . .

I'm trying to think what that would be in this weather - fingers in ears implies something you can year which means your refrigerator isn't dead and you're not dripping melting ice cream. Broken pipe??

Oh Sharon, worse; much, much worse. This officially makes this week the one from you know where.

The thing that came to mind for me was kudzu! It's just starting to show itself, it has tendrils, it's a monster, and it keeps coming back even after you think you got rid of it for good!

You always have the most gorgeous photos on your blog. You know you have us all curious about the monster. I'm sorry it's making an appearance. Hang in there.

Oh, dear! I can't imagine what would make a hardy shepherdess cringe and cover her ears! For me, it was a smoke detector alarm a few years ago that I couldn't reach. Finally knocked most of it off the ceiling with a broom!

I hope your Mother's Day is a lovely one anyway!!

Sorry to make everyone curious and/or worried. It's what Tammy said; I don't even want to say the word. Only now it's in the living space, not just in the attic space....

Oh that is so terrible and completely hard to get rid of. I actually know of someone here that turned their brand new home back to the builder because they could not get rid of it. I hope you are successful.
