Documenting the starting gate:
Progress covering all four teams by the end of day one:
I know, it's not much, but it's something, and that's all I'm going for every day!
Last (tall bearded) iris standing. The white flags are blooming, and the daylilies and dahlias are budding.
That's it for yesterday from . . .

Good work! I like your "montage" photo. The first day is easy... it's the inbetween ones that get hard.
Did you watch any of the Tour de France? Looked like an exciting finish. I've ridden Seattle to Portland 10 times (sloooooowwwwwly) and can't imagine ever doing something like TdF.
Thanks for changing the comments signup - or someone changed them. It's much easier to post a comment now. :-)
Thanks, Franna. This is my first TdF, so I hope to complete it!
The only part of the REAL TdF I saw was on the news last night. Stupid spectator leaned out and caused a huge pile-up of bicycles and cyclists! Fortunately, no 'wrecks' here. The most bike riding I've done was some 50-mile bike-a-thons waaaay back in, um, grade school....
Hey, a little is enough, I didn't get much done my first day either... actually got more done yesterday than I did today but the day isn't over yet :)
This is kinda fun!
Wow, you still have irises blooming. They are such a stately flower, but ours are long gone.
Your yarn is luscious! Beautifully spun in spite of the frustrations. And the colors, mmmm yum.
I just noticed that your merino/silk top is a great match for the last of the irises. Pretty, pretty - both of them!
Your mS fiber matches your iris :-D.
