This morning's view as I walked to the barn to do chores. As beautiful as it was, my heart was heavy, and my fading hope was not revived by Tippy's eager greeting. Monday night he followed me to the house after chores, and talked me into one last snuggle-session (it wasn't hard) before I went indoors. I thought about bringing him inside for awhile, but decided that would only make saying good-night harder on both of us. I haven't seen him since. For a cat as companionable as Tippy, that can only mean one of three things - he's critically injured somewhere, dead, or inside someone's house. I am praying for that last one; he had so much love to give that the world would be poorer for losing him so soon.

How can such a little bundle of furs leave such a big hole?

That's it for now from . . .

Oh.... I do hope Tippy comes home soon. It is so hard to lose such a loving companion. Our cats are not allowed to come into the house either, one sleeps in one of the dog houses on the deck but the other has disappeared for several days at a time, and I always worry.
Hopefully he will greet you tomorrow morning.

Michelle, I do feel your heartache. The same thing happened with my Gigi - the sweetest cat ever. I hope, as well, that Tippy has gone to visit a neighbor and that he will be showing up at your doorstep soon. Sending you a big, big hug.

When I was still living at home with my parents we had a yellow cat that was missing for a week... He came to our door one morning ~ Mom let him in, he smelled like baby powder.. We think that someone let him in their house and didn't let him out.. Plus someone put baby powder on him. He smelled so good.. That winter he spent time with us and time with this other family. Summer came and he just stayed at our house. Good luck with Tippy..hope he comes back smelling good for you.. ta ta for now from Iowa

I love cats, but they are just that; cats. The way they think would make me wonder why they ever hang around humans, if it weren't for the fact that they love scratches. Most of them anyway. Hope he comes home soon.

Maybe you can find comfort from Bill's post the other day..........his missing fur ball came back after a long absence. Male cat a prone to wandering and I'm sure yours is just off mooching from another kind heart. Sometimes our outside cats would disappear for months only to show up one day sitting by the food bowl and looking at us as if to say, "Hey, where have you been with my supper?"

Oh no! I'm still hearing Golgi's ra-row when he used to come through the cat/dog door... I'm hoping that he's found a soft heart that would let him in at night (not that your's isn't, I know...).

Yeah, I keep "hearing" Tippy's high little mew; he constantly talked to me unless he was in my arms or on my lap. He has stuck around here like glue since arriving and is neutered, so I really don't think he's wandering....

I hope he is there by the door eager to greet you in the morning. We have a very snuggly outdoor cat and she has disappeared a time or two. I suspect that she 'talks' her way into someone else's warm house. Thinking good thoughts!

Well, hopefully he'll make an appearance this morning. Sometimes even our big lovable come when he's called neutered Rodger would disappear for a day or two and worry us sick. Have you checked the trees? He could have been scared into one and hasn't figured out how to get himself down. Juno has done this and has a tiny faint meow so it was just chance I heard her.
Fingers crossed & prayers being sent your way.

Oh no, I'm so sorry. :( We sure get attached, don't we?

So sorry to hear about Tippy. I'll be praying for him and for his return to you. I know you've checked--but cats can get in the strangest places--so anywhere he could get locked in would bear checking out. They don't always meow when they hear us either (if they are scared they tend to go silent). As someone else said, check up in trees too. This happens allot! He could very well have gotten over to a neighbors too and done the same thing (if he didn't talk his way into the house...), so you might call around. Our indoor/outdoor cat that we had when I was a kid was devoted to my mom. That didn't stop her from taking up with the local hermit lady and leading a double life! We caught her at it when we saw her IN the lady's house looking out the window!! There is always hope and as I said I'll be praying for you, because I sure understand how heavy your heart is.
