Anticipation

Having nothing on the needles since my Olympic Knitting project has been both freeing and frustrating. Freeing, because I take the time to go through magazines and other miscellany that gets ignored when I'm using my sit-down time to knit, and frustrating because I don't have something to occupy my hands when I'm "just" sitting (like when supervising Brian's schoolwork, riding in the car, or watching the nightly news). Problem is, having something on the needles requires first doing some research, gathering materials, and swatching, and I haven't had the time to focus on that. Today, though, I took the first step: I decided on my next project. I have enjoyed wearing my Knitting Olympics vest so much that I'm going to knit another vest, one that I've had bookmarked for a long time. "Talia" is long and fitted, a completely different style than my Olympic vest and therefore a nice wardrobe addition:
I really like it in black, but don't have black yarn on hand. Now to decide whether to go stash-busting (I have both a nice denim blue and a cool brown that should work), or buy some black yarn. I have to go to town today anyway; I might take a look-see at what's available.

That's it for now at . . .

Wow, you must feel strongly about this, Sis! You hardly ever comment! I do have the blue out to swatch, but blue would limit my shirt options. Black, as we all know, goes with ANYthing....

I would go with black. I mean, you can always use more yarn ;-).

Hey, can you ask Rick if he'd do a guest post on how to sharpen hoof trimmers?

What? Blue can go with as many colors as black! And I say that even though the majority of my wardrobe is black...it's sad, really. :)

Dye something... You could overdye either the blue or the brown, and have black without buying more yarn...

The black looks good, but I don't think you'd enjoy knitting with it. It's hard to see. I had a black sweater on needles for a very long time and it's hard on my eyes so I'm not drawn to work on it.
