My day started with a blaze of glory, before settling back into grey dampness:(Now I've got a Kenny Rogers earworm!)
This little beauty seemed to pop up overnight:After taking its portrait, I promptly pulled it up and tossed it in the trash bin so Dozie couldn't make a snack of it. Can I just say that I would love to smuggle my little snuggle-bug Dozer along in a (heavy) carry-on? I'm going to miss him. I'll miss Jackson, too, but Jackson has too much fun with his doggy buds at my friend's house to miss us. Dozer, on the other hand, has had so much upheaval in his young life that I hate to confuse him with yet another transition, however temporary. Dogs don't understand temporary.
It's been a busy day doing the usual and crossing things off the "Must do before trip" list. I now have two WIPs (knitting works in progress), which should give me plenty of travel knitting, but I may throw in a ball of sock yarn as well. It would be a shame to waste one minute of potential "travel knitting" time! I'm going to have to take my laptop and work on jobs for a couple clients as well - which will let me keep up with email and blogs. Unfortunately, we are staying at the high-end hotel where Rick's meetings are being held. Why is it that affordable accommodations offer free wi-fi, while the high-end ones CHARGE for it? Grrrr. Yes, it is a personal pet peeve.
That's it for now from . . .

From the photo, that looks like a shaggy mane mushroom....edible and quite delicious, but I would subject it to more close scrutiny before eating it. Maybe next time one pops up....
Have a great time!!! Dogs are very resilient and I'm sure Dozer will be very happy to see you when you come home. I agree about the wi-fi...
Lovely photos Michelle. Do enjoy your trip!
Beautiful pictures!
Travel safe. The weather is looking pretty darn good again this weekend... :-)
What a sky! That's gorgeous! Safe travels and happy knitting!!
Have fun! Funny, my ear-worm is Blaze of Glory by Bon Jovi... different strokes for different folks!!
Beautiful pics!
Hope you enjoy your trip. Be sure to pull out your yarn on the flight. I used to be a flight attendant and I recall a sweet lady knitting socks on the flight with the most beautiful brown yarn. I stopped to ask what kind of yarn she was using and where she got it (not knowing much about yarn, or knitting either one) The lady modestly responded, "I spun it from my sheep"
A few years later, I had a little flock of sheep and soon thereafter quit my job as a flight attendant and became a full-time shepherdess.. I think that passenger made quite a life changing impression on me with her brown sock yarn! :)
"..now sit back, relax, and enjoy your flight"
OMG! You should make prints of that second sunrise photo! Wish I was closer! I'd be happy to snuggle adorable Dozer for you!
I don't know what that white thing but it looks like something from science fiction. Have a wonderful time~
We call those mushrooms "Shaggy Ink Caps" over here. Lovely to eat when they are like that and before they start turning black and "inky"!
Simply gorgeous sunset!
