Unpacking the memories

It is good to be home. The landscape has changed; almost all the trees have been stripped in our absence. There must have been some power outages according to the flashing clocks and fax machine "hiccups," and there's a bit of drama in the sheepfold. While we were elsewhere, Blackberry has gone from mellow to macho (BAD rammy!) and his sister Bramble has developed a vaginal infection (bad OTHER rammy - Braveheart - for the "forcible entry" before our trip!). The dogs are happy to be home (Jackson grinned AND yodeled with joy when I picked them up today!), and all the other animals are fine.

We packed SO many wonderful experiences and forever memories into our recent trip to Kentucky that it's going to take several posts to share the highlights with you. But right now I have to deal with the "suitcase explosion" in our bedroom, or we won't be able to retire tonight. We retire early we must, for yesterday was a 22-hour day (gotta love getting up on Eastern time and going to bed - at 12:30 a.m. - on Pacific time!) and Rick has to be at the hospital at 7:00 tomorrow morning.

That's it for now from . . .

Welcome home. As much fun as it is to travel, Dorothy was right, "There's no place like home." Hopefully Blackberry will settle down soon and Bramble will heal quickly without complications.
