Amethyst

This is a chunk of amethyst my hubby picked up at a rock shop in Spokane when we were there for Father's Day. He thought it was pretty. He thought I would think it is pretty. I do. I also love that my husband and son appreciate beautiful things, like flowers and sunsets and pretty rocks.

This is my amethyst yarn. The miniSpinner and I had a 45-minute date yesterday in the midst of my packing and watering and washing and readying, and then got more time in last night. I felt it was important to give it some love since it will be missing out on four days of the Tour de Fleece - and I finished the first of two braids!

Myrtle and Inky got a little love yesterday, too. Myrtle will be staying home; I don't want to risk breaking her lovely, long Swan neck. Instead, I am taking a little spinning "fix" stocked with Inky roving and my Tiny Threads Through Time Turkish spindle with its sturdier shaft.

In case I run out of fiber, I'll also have my current knitting WIP, a second Sakaki small shawl, this one with beads.

By the time you read this, I should be boarding my plane to Dallas/Ft. Worth. A change of planes there and I will fly on to Wichita, KS. It will be good to see family; to say good-bye together to my grandmother. Not good-bye, really; more of a "See you at the Resurrection!"

That's it for now from . . .

Michelle, I am so sorry about your grandmother, I did not know. I'll send my thoughts your way tonight and tomorrow.

I can't believe you would even think of taking a spindle on a trip!
