I wanna be a cowboy

Little "Pistol Pete" has decided he's a stunt rider! I have never had a lamb do this before, although I realize it's not uncommon. Mark down one more good reason to put coats on sheep!

Here are some more shots of the ramling:

And here's my little lover girl:
She'll soak it up as long as I will dish it out. She's such a wee mite of a thing. Her brother seems to be growing and gaining at a faster rate than she is, although she nurses eagerly and acts like a normal, healthy lamb.

Watching them both this morning brought to mind a new set of "B" names - Buckshot for the ram, and BB for the ewe. What do you think? Bittersweet and Bloom, or Buckshot and BB? The first two names were inspired by their dad's name, the second two suit their relative sizes and natures better.

Speaking of chocolate sheep, this morning I needed to change Cadbury's coat, so of course I have to show you his fleece.
It is very soft and fine, with tiny, disorganized crimp and probably a 4" staple - and he was sheared in July! Yummy, yummy, yummy.

That's it for now from . . .

That would be something you would expect from a baby goat. Never a dull moment at your place! Have a great weekend.

I like Buckshot and... Bloom. Bloom is so much prettier than BB.
They are both so cute but that baby girl is adorable.
You're so lucky to have these babies.

Farmlady, BB sounds a lot like Baby to me, which fits. Right now, she's Bloomy or Bloomers; hee!

I don't think it matters what you call her. I'm calling her adorable! :)

Except that I have too much fleece, I really like Cadbury's...

I'm a sucker for browns, and his is really lucious!!

Too late anyway, Laura; another blog reader called dibs on it this morning. I wish I could keep and spin them all!

Ride'm cowboy! What a cute little fella. I have only seen this in goats and find it to cute that your lamb hopped on momma. I just love those Classic Equine hay bags. All my sheep are horned so I wouldn't want to risk a ewe getting tangled, but I love the bags when we go horse camping.
