I actually got the "green" beans picked before they got too mature - woohoo for me! Last night I executed another "kick my rump out the door" maneuver and did the deed, then came in to fix some for supper. Here they are ready to go in the oven, all shiny from a little olive oil:
And here they are, roasted to perfection and ready for a bit of sea salt before disappearing as if by magic:
The "kick myself into gear" task for today (well, ONE of them) was to get my Alcyone shawlette blocked so it's ready to deliver to the State Fair next week. VoilĂ !(Yeah, I see that it's a bit lopsided. Off to fix that as soon as I post this.)
Detail shot:
Alcyone is another of Romi Hill's marvelous designs.
That's it for today from . . .

Funny.. I was thinking The beans look beautiful ....and the shawlette Yummy..!
Good luck at the fair!
I never thought to roast beans. Thanks for that!
Good luck at the Fair - that's a beautiful shawl :-)
Beautiful! I've never heard of roasting beans. How long and what temp? Just olive oil and sea salt?
Thanks for the compliments on the shawl, everyone. The yarn is from A :-) - thank-you, Adrienne!
The beans ARE yummy; the recipe is called "The World's Best Green Beans" or something like that. Sara, the recipe calls for 2# green beans on a greased baking pan, drizzled with 2 T. olive oil and rolled to coat well. Roast at 500 degrees for 15 minutes or until nicely browned, shaking pan (I use a spatula) to turn beans occasionally. Sprinkle with sea salt and serve right away. The recipe book is called The Roasted Vegetable, and it is wonderful!
Michelle, that shawlette is so amazing! It is a blue-ribbon-winner for sure! And thanks for the roasted bean recipe - I'm up to my elbows in beans and always looking for new recipes.
Dbl nummy!
