You SO know what's coming

It's BULLY time! For those of you who just don't get it, don't worry. The Boulderneigh blog is not going to turn into the "All-Bulldog-All-The-Time Blog," but I must say Dozer is fun to photograph.

Dozer's introduction to our household yesterday afternoon and evening went very well. After saying good-bye to his foster mom and driving home we introduced him to Jackson outside and walked around quite a bit so he could investigate and potty, and played fetch with Jackson so he wouldn't be jealous of the newcomer. (Can you see why Dozer is an easier subject? Jackson is almost always a blur!) Then we went inside to explore there. Brian was so sweet; he donated his stuffed salmon so Dozer could have his own toy. After awhile Dozer asked to go back outside and eventually made his way to our car, which was still parked outside. He stood there as if to say, "Thank-you, it's been very nice to visit; but when am I going home?" We stayed outside together for awhile, and Dozer gave me the perfect portrait session:
Once inside again, he and Jackson started playing - hard. I knew then everything was going to be just fine.

Last night they slept on their separate beds in the laundry room, and Dozer now seems completely comfortable here. Everything is as rosy as this morning's sunrise!
Thanks to the bullies who have graced our home before, Dozer was ready for this morning's brisk temperatures:I even have a couple of costumes on hand to check for fit before the local feed store's Halloween pet costume contest. Rosie and her brother used to go nearly every year; my friend Debbie has continued to take Montie or one of her other dogs, and expects Dozer to fill Rosie's pawprints this year. My mom has given us a couple "boy-appropriate" costumes for Jackson, but somehow it hasn't seemed fitting to dress up a beautiful Aussie. Bulldogs, however, seem custom-made for masquerade - look at the millions Zelda has earned for her owner!

As for Rick, I don't think there's anything to worry about there:
That's it for now from . . .

Michelle he's just gorgeous! And may God rain blessings upon your for taking on an older rescue dog instead of going to a breeder for a puppy. What great stewardship of His animals.
I for one would love updates on how Dozer.

I'm glad for you Michelle and I'm glad for Jackson. Dogs are pack animals and need canine companions. They seem as happy as you are. BTW, I've left an award for you on my blog.

Wonder if Dozer knows how lucky he is? You got great pictures of him.

Oh, my good gracious me. This dog fits his name perfectly! And yes, it's difficult to photograph a dog who's always moving, isn't it? What a sweetheart of a dog.

Oh, boy, that picture of Brian getting ready to toss the frisbee is priceless! Perfectly sums up both Aussie & Bullie personalities. Hey, we get to dog-sit Ace while parents are on a cruise...THAT's gonna be interesting!

Dozer is a hunk! My school team is the Drake Bulldogs and every year we have a contest called the Beautiful Bulldog contest where they strut their stuff and one of them is crowned most beautiful, and he/she gets to attend all the Drake games for that season as a VIP. I think Dozer would win. He's a honey!

Well Congratulations Michelle. I remember when you lost your beloved Rosie - and now you've been blessed again with Dozer. He's adorable.

Michelle! I'm gone for two days, and this happens. ;-) What a sweetheart Dozer is. I'm so glad he and Jackson seem to be making friends fast. Having previous experience being around bulldogs probably helped Jackson jump right in with his new buddy. I had a feeling that there would be a bulldog joining your family soon, just never imagined it would be an adult male! I'm so happy for all of you.

Oh dear. You don't plan on having any mirrors around that he might happen to gaze into do you?? Poor thing could be severely traumatized at his reflection. I say this in the kindest possible way. :)

That is the cutest adult dog I have ever seen! Those wrinkles and teeth! Glad Jackson likes him. I wondered how he'd take to having a brother.
