Today was practically summer-like, warm and humid with that high, hazy cloud layer that summer often brings. I put the sheep out on grass, and, armed with fully charged batteries in my camera, sat down to film lamb races. The boys ran some great heats - I even caught a specatular wipe-out by Blake in mid-sprint! Ahem. The videos didn't turn out.
That didn't bother Katie at all. She took advantage of my position to get some one-on-one time with the shepherd. She isn't due for seven more weeks, and look at her belly!

Jackson and Dozer were waiting for me in the arena while I sat leaning against the outside with my camera. Inky's lambs ducked under the gate, and Dozer thought they looked like fun playmates.

Enjoying a wonderful Sabbath rest at . . .

Oh my, that last picture makes up for the video mishap. I love that shot!
Fabulous pic! I know of a bulldog working obedience but never seen one with the collie eye! Love it!
Dozer is really putting his heart into it. That's such a great shot and it made me laugh out loud. Look at that stealthy right paw, and the concentration. My goodness - he should have been born a sheep dog.
What a good sheep dog! I do so wish you could come next month for the Bluegrass Sheepdog Trials AND the first annnal KY Sheep and fiber festival!
Deb, that sounds like fun! Actually, Rick was contemplating a quick trip at the end of THIS month for a one-day vet seminar that includes tickets to Rolex. Tempting, but I do so hate to leave this time of year. The sheep have to stay locked up in the fold when someone else is doing chores....
