Yesterday on the way to Brian's violin lesson, I noticed the crimson clover fields in full bloom. Click to biggify the photo with the bee boxes, and you can clearly see the bees in the air!
After violin we stopped by the farm store to look for seed potatoes (no luck), but I happened to spy something exciting in their nursery:Yes! A white Centaura Bachelor's Button, called "Amethyst in the Snow." Of COURSE I had to get it! I know from experience with the blue variety that the small investment will grow and I can divide and replant until I have a whole bed of both.
Think "Mr. Blue" will like his companion? :-)
Other flowers at Boulderneigh are making their annual debut as well. Irises are opening -
as well as rhodies:
There was a package waiting for me upon our return home yesterday. When I saw it was from blogpal Adrienne and felt soft and squishy, I had my suspicions, but was totally blown away by what was inside:Call her friend or enabler, but when this woman of many talents (of which knitting beautiful socks is just one) read on my blog that I was going to take the plunge, she dived into her stash to send me some of her favorites. How incredible is that?
That's it for now at . . .

Bee-autiful!!! That is an awesome bee picture and your flowers are just lovely.
And I'm so glad Lucille is doing so well.
Reminds me of the 60's song "Crimson and Clover"
very pastoral scene!
That bachelor button is stunning! My mother loved them so much.
I admire your garden work...Rick will be seeing to it that his family eats well and healthy...hope the little hot houses help. We are failing with our cucumber plant and hope it will survive.
Many blessings from the cozy cottage.
PS: Love the yarn and the giver:)
That clover field is amazing! and your flowers are beautiful. Don't you love spring?
Your flowers are very beautiful, and the giving spirit of your friend is even more so.
Oh Yay! It's really fun, actually to see that yarn at your house. Have a great time with it :-)
You've got an award on my blog. :-) Come over and grab it when you can.
I love your flowers - makes me feel like spring will eventually come to us too.
I did open the photo to see the bees...but what a sight for sore eyes the red clover is...fantastic:)
I love irises and yours are amazing :)
Great to have friends who share, eh? Wonder what you will knit?
Oh, your photos make me so happy! Your spring is so far ahead of mine! Just a few irises opening in time for the holiday weekend, and not even buds yet on the centurea. That field of red clover is just amazing! Thanks for the dose of spring in your part of the world!
