Blackberry lost a "thorn"!

Last night after I rode Russell, I went in the sheepfold for a good-night snuggle (okay, and a bit of preliminary halter-training of whichever lamb came up first, which was Bramble). I was ignoring Blackberry to discourage this future flock sire from being too friendly, so I was about ready to leave before I noticed something was missing on his head! I hope the other scur follows suite before Black Sheep Gathering, so he looks as symmetrical as possible for showing. It would also be nice for him to look as polled as possible, since that is what I'm breeding for, even though he is Pp.

That's it for now from . . .

Oooo, that looks like it hurt. Do those always fall off?

Poor little lopsided boy! Your photo closeup was so excellent it makes me want to reach into the computer and scratch his head, or at least rub where the horn thingy was!

Yes, it did hurt, or at least the raw spot that resulted hurts -- and he does NOT want anyone to touch it, Mom L. Adrienne, there is a huge range in scur types and sizes. The little weak ones that break off and don't regrow are the most ideal, as there is nothing to catch in fences or require trimming, etc.

Owwie! Poor blackberry! I hope it heals over soon... and doesn't grow back. Also that the other falls off, heals quick, and stays gone!

Ouch! Tell him I promise not to touch the spot! I thought it might itch and need scratching - I'm glad now I couldn't reach out to rub it!

I'll sit here quietly and hope the other one falls off as well.
