Introducing (drum-roll, please) Boulderneigh Bronwen.
Dinah waited until mid-morning to deliver her vigorous, brown-based gulmoget EWE lamb, and I couldn't be more pleased! I left Dinah in the sheepfold by herself this morning, and nothing was happening when I checked on her at 9:15. Brian checked at 10:30 and came back to tell me there was "a black-and-white lamb" standing up and walking around. What? I ran down to see for myself, and was THRILLED to see this little treasure.
Her name came to mind as I was waiting around to see if a twin was forthcoming. When I checked the meaning to be sure it fit, I learned this Welsh name means "white-breasted." Now tell me, what could be more perfect for a gulmoget-patterned ewe lamb?
Yes Dinah, my first Shetland love, you did good. :-)
That's it for now at . . .

Jealousy.....thats the first word that comes to mind when I see that very beautiful ewe lamb:) I am so excited for you!! I am assuming she is a keeper?:)
Oh.my.goodness. The first thing out of both your and Brian's mouth is "Can we (you) keep her?" My husband is already worried that we are going to be overrun with sheep this year, since all four girls were bred, so there was some relief Bronwen is a single. But a keeper? I just don't know yet! Sure, I'd LOVE to, but I need to see what else I get, and who else could go in her stead.
Woot! Woot! Lambs! And yeah, she looks like a keeper to me...
OMGosh! OMGosh!
HOORAY! Michelle you have just GOT to keep her! A moorit gully? AWESOME!
I'm so happy for you!!!!
HIP HIP HOORAY!
Oh, WOW!
If I was going to breed for anything other than HST, it would be gulmogets. I think they are SO beautiful!
Congratulations Michelle! Wow, those Shetlands look so different than the Jacobs! She's beautiful non-the-less and I think her name is great! Looking forward to meeting all your new beauties.
She is just perfect...I just love those beautiful markings. I've never seen a gulmoget up close in person.
Congratulations and continued Happy Lambing :)

Yes what a wonderful way to start your lambing! A moorit gulmoget ewe lamb is exactly what I'm for out of my Shetland girls. I'm glad you got yours! Congratulations.

Thank-you so much for sharing my joy, everyone!
Yes, Sally, I'm sure she's a single; after three hours with no afterbirth or another lamb, I went in and checked. Nothing; and within five seconds of checking, out popped the afterbirth.
Yay!!! She's adorable! I hope you can keep her.
Oh my she is perfect! Congrats!
Congratulations on your pretty little ewe lamb. What a fine way to start lambing season. I think she's a keeper.
She's delightful! Oh my, so now you have to start keeping track of who guessed what in terms of the lambs and gulmogets and all that. Oh my, I think I'd need a spreadsheet!
Good Boy Franjean !!!!
Oh - SO darling!!!!
I'm so happy about the new gulmoget, that's wonderful news! Congratulations, I'll stay tuned.
