Just as it did on Bronwen's third day of life, today - Blackberry and Bramble's third day of life - dawned sunny. Perfect timing to introduce lambies to the larger world of pasture and flock.
Bronwen approaches to say "Hi." Notice the color difference between these two brown-based gulmoget ewe lambs? Bronwen's dark is darker and her light is lighter. (You can double-click to biggify.)
Butter butted Bramble once, warning her, "I'm not your mommy!" So both lambs retreated to the comforting end of dam Inky.
Let the lamb races begin!
This photo clearly shows Blackberry's small crown of white. Franna pointed out that Inky has spots in her pedigree. Since Braveheart has a large krunet and passed it on to some of his lambs last year, he and Inky could give Boulderneigh some real flash next year!
This is the east side of our house, looking up from the sheep pasture with the neighbor's house at my back. I keep an eye on the sheep from those main floor windows and deck. The partial basement is not finished.
Oh, and I think I've figured out the reason I like gulmogets so much - I already have a dog in that pattern! (Well, close enough. :-)
That's it for now at . . .

LOL, a gulgomet dog :)
The lambs are adorable, looks like they are enjoying being out and about...
When tunis are born with with top-knots, the white usually fades away, but they will have a bit of wool there forever.
sorry, thats supposed to say 'white top-knots'...
I don't think I have posted my congratulations yet so here they are, all your lambs are adorable. I love lamb race time.
Becky, I expect Blackberry's top-knot to fade, but in Shetlands, those bits of white do seem to indicate the sheep carries one spotting gene. Added to another spotting gene, the results can sometimes be quite dramatic!
Thanks, Shula!
Adorable lambs!!!
I've chosen your blog for the Kreative Blogger Award.
Bless - they're SO cute! Your house is gorgeous too. :)
Wonderful photos! Blackberry has enough white that he might keep some of it.
Gulmoget dog - that's exactly what it is! At, or black and tan, with some white spotting. There's a name for that type of white pattern but I've forgotten it... Irish spotting???

Thanks for sharing your lambs with those of us who are "lambless" this year. :)
Lovely...simply lovely.
I hope there are more lovely days for them to enjoy for a while. So cute!
When are the next due dates?
MiniKat, I'm HOPING the next lambing date is two weeks from today, because that would mean Franjean bred Butter! Brava is welcome to go earlier than that, since there's no question of paternity with her, but her udder is less developed than Butter's. However, they are both first-timers, so the usual signs may not apply.
Inky's mother flower had a krunet and white on around the bottom part of her throughtlatch.

Congratulations, the gulmogets are pretty cute!
Wonderful pictures. Thank you so much for sharing. I love your dog too. I envy your blossoms - we had snow this morning!
Soooooo nice to see green grass and Gulmogets! YAY! Here's hoping for lots of great lambs this year! I even managed to have my first set of triplets ever - sadly, they were from my unregistered group but still, lovely and healthy so far! I hope I have lots of twins too this year - congrats on the lambs!
Congrats Michelle!
What you described was coined as "Lambpage"! by Beau yesterday lol. Or also possibly "Lambpede".
Beautiful spinning, Beautiful lambs, and a beautiful dog, he's gotten so big and turned into a fine looking lad.
