Proper introductions

I'm back again to formally introduce you to Boulderneigh Bevin (fair lady in Gaelic), above, and Boulderneigh Bryden (traditional Scottish surname), below. They sure picked a cold, wet and windy day for their debut! But warm milk, deep straw, and a nice heat lamb are keeping them quite comfortable.
Naming is one of my favorite mental exercises; I love thinking up names! I had a whole list of lamb names beginning with B written down for this and future lambing seasons, then misplaced it. No matter; I think Blanche was the only name on that list that I used this year. The rest came from circumstances (Blizz and Bluster), associations (Browning to go with Blanche) and additional research (on this site). Speaking of Blizz and Bluster, below they demonstrate that resourceful Shetland lambs have no need of a creep feeder!
In spite of my fondness for choosing names, I don't like to re-name animals. If a creature comes pre-labeled, I respect what it is familiar with and refuse to confuse it with a new moniker. Hence, barn kitty Oreo kept her very predictable name when she moved to Boulderneigh. (Jackson says Oreo by any other name would be as fun to pester and play with!)

Hey kiddo! Congrats on the twins!!! All done, that's great!

Hey - they make clear heatlamps...you know why I use them? So that when I leave the birthing stall I CAN STILL SEE instead of being color blind and stumbling around afterwards! HAHAHA!

Beautiful babies! Congrats on your lambing season being done. At least you got a couple of ewes out of the deal... there for awhile I was concerned! :-) Good job on getting Valentine's twins sorted out and delivered. Seems like I've heard of allot of mispresented births this year, and lots of one foot back deliveries. I can sure tell you, I'm glad it's all done here!

Clear lights help you to see the correct color of the placenta also...
Jackson has a new toy! Yay! lol
Beautiful babies Michelle! I had 5 tunis ram lambs and 4 ewe lambs, I would have liked it a bit the other way, but c'iest la vie.

Congrats on a successful lambing season, 200%! Love the names, love the colors, love the lambs.

BTW, wee Seamus is completely polled. No scurs, no buds, nothing that I can see. The other rams have scurs. Just thought you'd like to know.

Great getting your ewes lambs out without by yourself. But I do envy you and your vet husband. I've been on my own taking care of the animals over the years and often wished on those cold nights I had married a vet!
Beautiful lambs!
