Handsomeness and beauty

This morning I let Braveheart out after putting the girls in the sheep lot, and then headed to the house with Jackson. While I was in the garage with the overhead door open cleaning Jackson's feet, here came Braveheart! I guess he was more interested in some lovin' and playing than he was in staying with his flock. Unfortunately, our landscaping isn't sheep-safe (in our efforts to make it deer-resistant), so I had to put Braveheart back in the fold for his own good. Later in the day while I worked my horse, I was able to let Braveheart out again; he stayed near his flock as long as Jackson was "hangin' out."

A couple of the more handsome visitors to our birdfeeder showed up today - evening grosbeaks. They look like they are attired in formal evening wear; I wonder if that is how they got their name?

Two of my little Japanese maples in the front bed are leafing out amid the candytuft. I love their jewel-like foliage! Almost hidden here and there in our overgrown lawn are these little gems, grape hyacinths moved from their original planting sites when we built our house.
The peas Rick planted in our garden have finally sprouted, and everything else is looking good, although growing slowly during our mostly cool spring. I hope everything survives the weekend; snow and frost are forecast! After the middle of April! The cherry blossoms are most likely to suffer damage; we may not get any cherries this year.

That's it for now from . . .

I can't decide which pictures I like best, guess there's just alot of beauty at your place! I'd also like another look at what I think might be your riding arena...thanks for the photos.

Sigh - a garden growing already! Usually we wait until the May long weekend here in Alberta, but a few brave ones will plant things at the end of April. I've got my grow lights on inside starting little baby tomato plants. Your garden looks great! As do your ram and dog - too funny :o). It's so fun how animals like to play.

Great post, Michelle! Yes, GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS, GIRLS!!!!
:)

I am about to head outside to put the expecting ones IN and let the mums and babies OUT. Just wish we had pastures as green as your place. (sigh)

Amanda's boys really don't have much horn growth - yet. I expect that by next week, they'll start to show something.
