Packing my bag

I'm headed to the "People's Coast", one of my favorite places, this afternoon for our church's weekend women's retreat. I'm picking up a good friend along the way, and we'll have a lovely hour-long chat en route. It's supposed to be rainy there like it is here, but that's okay. The big vacation home we're using is a warm and welcoming place with lots of nooks for cozy solitude, and I'm taking both knitting and spinning projects to work on; I would miss my usual long walks on the beach, though!

The only sunshine around here right now is on a spindle and in the flowerbeds,

so Lance will get at least two more days off. ๐Ÿ˜•
Earlier this week; he got yesterday off, too.

Getting away this week-end will helpful in transitioning back to full time parenting. Brian came home Tuesday night, dumped ALL his stuff on our couch, and has resisted all suggestions to deal with it. Tired of being ignored, I am going to ignore it; maybe Rick will get fed up with the mess enough to bring the hammer down, so to speak.

We're having other 'fun' with Brian, too; typical teenage attitude stuff. He had a great time on the mission trip, but it didn't magically mature him. He is forgetting all about the fun he had in the face of the schoolwork he now has to catch up on – while keeping up on current assignments. Boys just wanna have FUN, doncha know? School is STUPID; yada yada yada. Yep, a little weekend break will help me ease back in to dealing with all this. ๐Ÿ™„

That's it for now, from rainy, whiny . . .

I'm taking my laptop, so maybe I'll post from the coast!

What a gorgeous place you are going to for your retreat. (Can you stay for a month or so?) Glad to know you're getting out of the house . . . and leaving Brian's ridiculous mess on the couch. If it's still there when you return home, I have some suggestions as to what you can do with it along with some of his other things that might/could be confiscated! (Isn't living through the teenage years difficult? Not for them, but for parents!)

Wishing you a wonderful time at the retreat. It sounds wonderful! Rain or shine walk your feet on the sand.

And 'life with Brian' will improve. It's tough being the parents and yet I can't imagine in today's world what it's like to be a teenager.

Your spinning is beautiful. Likewise the flowerbeds, spring is here.

Hope you have a great time at the coast. The house looks lovely. As for his stuff, I think the dumpster is calling with no hope of recall or replacement. Yeah, I'm mean.
