Orange and shades of gray

I've struggled for a foothold to blog on after last week-end. Making what may be a final trip to Spokane to say what was a final good-bye to my dad was an emotional Everest, and as we headed home on Sunday, the sadness grew. But as we drove west through the Columbia River Gorge to where evergreens reach skyward and waterfalls cascade from the heights, my mood also lifted. There remains a melancholy, but it whispers instead of shouts, and I nod at it and move on. When I can take the considerable time to edit photos and organize my thoughts, I will post about last weekend; for now, I am glorying in the everyday beauty that surrounds me in this place I am blessed to call home.

That's it for now from . . .

Look at all that fleece. At first glance I thought you had a new black puppy on a super soft doggie bed!!
