Inspiration leads to action

For a number of years now, I've followed FD in France, and every year during Lent she participates in 40 Acts. I don't practice Lent, but I have read the challenges, her thoughts, and her acts with interest, and cheered her on.

This year, for whatever reason, Alison's post about 40 Acts didn't just interest me, it inspired me. Perhaps it was this: It is just a way of helping us to focus on being generous, on being kind, on being loving…. And if there’s one thing this world needs right now, it is those things!  Can you say "Amen"?

So I signed up. I figured if Dormouse can commit to participating while fighting cancer, I can commit while fighting parenting a teenager. How about you? Could you use some encouragement and tools to help you focus on being more generous, kind, and loving? After all, "What the world needs now is love, sweet love. No, not just for some, but for everyone." And as my mom always said, love is not a feeling, it is a decision.

Here's a little more inspiration:

Let it begin with me at . . .

I'm not being snarky but this is the way I was brought up and still live my life. I make it a point of always giving a compliment and/or praying for someone while I'm doing errands. Since the big move, I've been giving away stuff left and right...some say yes, some say no but it's all good.
Lent and Valentine's Day..same day...there's a sermon! lol

Michelle so glad you are inspired. I think sometimes me need a place to launch from and make things a way of life. Too many folks are just plain angry now. And overwhelmed. I have for a long while chosen to be happy , kind. But we all trip up and need to stand up dust off and press on. I think right now anger is the new "disease of the month" and many have carried it to almost a fashion statement level as it were.
