Sleepy sheep

It got hot today. It is still hot today. I spent several hours doing horsey stuff, and when I got home, the sheep were all sacked out in the shade, blending into their brown and barren surroundings.

Summer is my least favorite season. Too much heat, too much dust, too much brown. Maybe I will take a nap and dream of winter; of hot drinks and flannel sheets and cozy fires. Or maybe I will dream of the lambs to come, white ones and black ones and brown ones, too.

Maybe I don't have to dream about flannel and lambs; look what came today!
An adorable sleep sheep shirt, complete with a photo tag from Maisie; a generous Tour de Fleece prize from Punkin's Patch.  I love it, Sara! Hurry up, autumn!

That's it for today from . . .

I think everyone is ready to close the book on this summer. Love the sheep shirt, congrats, now just wait for some cool weather to enjoy it.

Don't think that is Maizie since Sara sent me one of the same picture and said it was Popcorn Pee Pee Pants, who names their sheep that, LOL>

Ok, I think this might be a silly question but ...

The sheep jackets I know keep their wool cleaner ... but doesn't it add to their body heat - which would be tough in the summer, or is their wool a kind of buffer for external heat. I think I read that somewhere.

Just wondering.

Oh, yeah, that is PPPP - Popcorn PeePee Pants :-D. Tim took that years ago. I think she must be about 8 now. Or 9. Yikes!

Mama Pea, I know; right?

Nadine, we had a short break in the weather, too, which made yesterday's 90-something and last night's lack of cool particularly hard to bear. Plus, the hot flashes have come back with a vengeance.... :-(

I'm waiting, Audrey, I'm waiting! (And you were right about the sheep.)

Sue, the coats may add a bit to the heat, but wool is an excellent insulator against both heat and cold. If my sheep didn't have plenty of shade sources, I would worry more.

You gave me one more reason to yearn for fall, Sara! ;-)

My three are looking the same - as soon as the heat gets turned up, it's nap time. I love that shirt - it's adorable! Something tells me that autumn is coming early this year - it may be the patches of red, orange and yellow leaves on the maple trees ... already!

When I first saw the top picture on the blog roll list, I thought it was an armadillo! Ha... Love the sleep shirt. I'm sorta ready for fall too (not particularly winter though)--but we are having a hot spell now. Sigh.
