Best buds or beasty boys?

This was Blake and Bunker several weeks ago:

This was Blake and Bunker last night:

It's a sure sign of fall - and approaching breeding season!

That's it for today from . . .

Boy, that impact gave me a headache! Good thing they've got thick skulls. Fall is here for sure!

Ouch! What is it with men / boys/ rams wanting to beat each other up all the time? Perfect example why women should run the earth.

Thankfully, at the moment I only have one lone ram lamb on the farm and he's about to go in with Buddy, the wether. I'm going the rent-a-ram route this year.
I hate that head-butting stuff. I actually had a ram die from that kind of fighting. (It was about 20 years ago. Can't remember for sure, but I think it was from a fractured skull.)

I agree, Susan, but like Dianne has experienced, sometimes their skulls are not thick enough! I worry a bit for smooth-polled Blake doing battle with a scurred ram, but hope for the best.

Even if we ran things, Christine, I'm not sure we could keep the men from fighting unless we neutered them all! That testosterone is a powerful and dangerous chemical....

(ETA missing "not")

Play fighting/wrestling is one thing but when the emotions and hormones take charge it's not good.

Yeouch! That's why I have an AFLAC accident policy on The Shepherd in case he's on the receiving end of one of those bashes! T.
