Party crasher

Last night we went to a Christmas party and got home late. I turned the dogs out for a potty break before bed, and could hear Jackson on high alert. He always storms out (and has taught Dozer to follow suit) looking for "varmints" to chase off; last night it sounded like he found some. So we turned on the deck lights to see this:These two juveniles were NOT happy Jackson crashed their party! In the other picture I took (which was slightly blurry), both 'coons had their ears pinned tight against their heads and snarls on their little masked faces. After taking their pictures I escorted Jackson inside (Dozer was already waiting at the front door) so they could escape back into the woods. This morning the roof/lid was back down, so obviously our visitors have had a proper upbringing. :-)

Today is sunny, blustery and COLD. It has been cold all week, but the wind came up last night. We've been using our wood-burning insert constantly since Thanksgiving, but lately it hasn't always been able to keep the house above 60 degrees. Oh well, that's what polarfleece is for. At least the mucky chicken yard is frozen hard!

That's it for now from . . .

What a super photo! Love the "caught in the act" expressions :o)

They are adorably cute looking critters, regardless of how nasty they can be. I can see the word BUSTED placed under that great photo.
Our wood fired heating system has been working hard too. Seems early for this deep freeze kind of cold.
Wish it would snow though, if it going to be cold it might as well be all white and pretty.

Don't you just hate it when someone leaves the lid up? Glad to see they are following their mother's upbringing. I also appreciate the frozen earth in many places on the farm. Stay warm......looks like Wi is in for some snow.

Such a funny photo. They are awfully cute little bandits.
It's been mighty cold up here, too.
Good thing we're all well outfitted with wool!

That is the cutest photo of naughty raccoons-- I'd try to get that one in a photo contest, a calendar, something! Just perfectly composed, and by nature!

Ugh - unwelcome visitors, but a GREAT picture!

Got to sit down and spin some of your roving over the weekend. It's sooo soft. Just lovely!

I agree, Sara, which is why I don't mind Jackson making them feel unwelcome!

So glad you like the Shetland roving. :-)
