Can I give away this heat?

No?
Then how about these beautiful little ornaments? I was in a local frame shop yesterday being reminded why I can't ever afford to have anything framed and saw these in a basket. Turns out the frame shop has their own laser engraver and did these in-house. I liked them so much I thought some of you might as well, so home they came with me for a give-away. (Consider it my Pay It Forward for winning Country Girl's giveaway recently.) To be entered to win, just leave a comment at the end of this post about how you would use or display these. (Wait 'til Christmas? Hang one from your rear-view mirror? Stare in concentration at one of the snowflakes to will away weather that you never signed up for when you moved to the Pacific Northwest?)

A winner will be chosen at random next Sunday afternoon around five-ish. (Hey, I have a family and sometimes have no control over my schedule!)

That's it for now from . . .

I would use them on my tree at Christmas and hang them in my office during the rest of the year. :-)

Yeah, they'd go on my new uber cute 3ft tall fiber optic tree this Christmas! I need a few ornaments for it...lol

I think that they would look nice on my kitchen window, kind of like suncatchers. They are just beautiful!

No, you cant give away your heat, we have our own thank you! :)
Dont have a clue what I would do with something like that, so I will say 'good luck everyone!' :)

If you can give away the heat, can I give away the 88% humidity? And it's not even raining.

They are super cute. I would use them to decorate my horses stable this christmas. It would be nice to have something non-toxic for him in case he played with/ate it.

Well Shula, I can't guarantee they're non-toxic, as the wood is probably stained with something; plus, they are pretty small. But your name goes in the hat nonetheless!

I will take your weather! How hot has it been for you,Michelle? I complain about the hot weather but we really need it....... corn doesn't grow in 50 degree nights. And neither do my flowers.

So send the heat to the Midwest where it belongs!

Miss Effie, it has been over 100 degrees here the last three days, with another of the same scheduled tomorrow. Highs are forecast above 90 for the foreseeable future. Some all-time records have toppled, like highest "low" on record; others may be or are in the process, like highest "high" on record, most number of days above 90 on record, etc. If you click on the red "weather" in my post it brings up my local "extreme weather alert." It's HOT.

Well, Miss Effie will just have to share. It has rained 41 out of the last 44 days, and the warmest day so far was in April. I would kill for your heat.....that, or figure out how to sell tons of green tomatoes....

Michelle said...

Go figure; the vast majority of our tomatoes are still green, too. If I had to choose between unseasonable cold and green tomatoes, or record-breaking heat and green tomatoes, I'd happily exchange weather with you both!

Wow those are beautiful! Hubby has threatened to get an engraver for his shop to do serious metal work but has said that I could use it for artsy stuff... he hasn't done it yet but it sure would be fun!

I would display those during Christmas, but if I got the heart, I like the idea of it gracing my review mirror! :) I guess it all depends upon how big they are.

Michelle said...

Joan, they are petite - the heart measures 1 3/4 inches across, and the snowflakes are 1 5/8 inches across. That would be neat if you guys got your very own engraver! Did you see the neat metal signs and decorations at a booth at BSG? Those are made by a fellow Shetland breeder's husband.

So pretty! Even with a laser I can't imagine they are easy to make.

I can only think of something for the snowflakes. We decorate our Christmas tree with snowflake ornaments, so I'm always on the lookout for new additions!

I think I would make them into necklaces...

Lol I would take dry heat over our humidity anyday!

I could wear them as necklaces during shows and fiber events to show them off. Then they could adorn my rear view mirror or inmy window at work.
They are beautiful !

I have a grouping of "items" on the porch wall behind our porch swing. They represent the four seasons... the snowflakes would hang with the winter item which is a metal tealight arrangement in front of a mirror - because winter is a time of reflection. The heart would have to come to work with me to hang on the bulletin board in front of my desk to signify my hearts desires, and dealing with clients from my heart, and the things I love that aren't always with me. Boy... wordy tonight!

I definitely would hang them in my kitchen window. They remind me of lace in wood--does that make sense? Charming! V.

They are so beautiful. I would hang then around my desk to give me something pretty to look at when I am working.

If I received the snowflake, it would go on display in my windows with the rest of my snowflakes that I've collected throughout the years.

They are lovely!!

I certainly cannot take your heat, I have my own!! Luckily, we had some rain first and now everything is GROWING!!

I would hang them in my bay window, I think. They are too pretty to stow away and bring out only at Christmas.

I've been wondering about your heat. I've never thought of your part of the country as being that hot.

I'd hang it on a window latch - I have a blue and white snowflake hanging in the bathroom window year round.
