I went down to ride my pony after lunch, and guess what I found? My camera – laying on the ground next to the sheep stand under the maple tree beside the Sheep Sheraton, where it must have fallen out of my bag when I mounted Lance last Thursday. I've walked within three feet of it multiple times doing chores since then; if it had been a been a snake it could have bit me! Poor Mr. Lumix was wet but providentially laying facedown, so I tentatively moved the switch to "on". Wonder of wonder, it powered right up! The lens looked okay; the memory card showed the photos I had taken of Lance before dropping it. I took another photo to test it:
Amazing! The lens cover was "sticky" at first, and when I brought it in the house the lens fogged up, but I set the camera on my bed in the sun and it seemed to dry out without further problems.
So that was my happy discovery when I went to the barn, which, now that I think about it, was prompted by a less happy discovery. I heard some scuffling in the sheep fold as I approached, so I deviated from my route – right by my camera – to see what was up. The gate to the ram lambs' inner pen was ajar and everyone was mingling. WONderful. I flagged down Rick, he gathered up supplies, and within minutes, Bogie was walking 'cowboy' and a chain secured the gate. At least the deed was finally done!

Yippee!!! I'm so happy you found your camera. Sounds like the timing was right, too.
Thank you, God!!
