Doing my civic duty
I had to report to the county courthouse today, and was selected as a jury member for a criminal case. The judge thought it would only take two days (today and tomorrow), but even if he is correct I will be playing catch-up on some things after that. Just didn't want you to worry if things were quiet here for a few days!

I always dread that kind of thing. Not because I don't want to do it, but afraid of what I might have to sit in judgement on. Good luck to you.
oh gosh, better you than me!
I've sat on two juries. I was the Foreman on one. I found it fascinating and overwhelming. The pressure of having someone's future in my hands weighed very heavily. Overall, I would say that it's a very positive experience and one that everyone should participate in.
