Fireside

Yesterday it was COLD in the house. I never could get a good fire going in our woodstove, and even with wool socks, long underwear, jeans, polarfleece pullover and heavy polarfleece jacket, I was uncomfortable all day. Rick got some drier wood when he got home and soon had the fire generating more heat. Watching my DH love on the dogs warmed my heart. :-)

A sure sign that things are heating up is the migration from the hearth to the couch!

Today it is raining on the snow, turning everything to sloppy slush and mud. But the house is warmer and the roads will be safer when we venture out later for Brian's violin lesson.

That's it for today from . . .

Love the love in those pictures! And that sweet smooshy face - bullies are one of a kind.

We have one of those electric radiator type heaters for our dogs on the back porch. You can tell how cold it is outside just by noticing how close they are to the heater. LOL

LOL, nothing like warm fires, furry butts and cold noses. Looks like a perfect evening.

We got home from work and got our fire going, but it was a couple hours before you noticed a significant difference. It was 1 degree here this morning....brrrrrrr. Winter finally arrived in Wisconsin.
Good news is.....the cooler temps inspired me to finish knitting my glove.

Your husband is looking incredibly well Michelle. How is he feeling these days? Was it just last year that you had that scary news or have I lost time again?

Cynthia, Rick had a heart attack in September of 2010. He saw his cardiologist this week and got a gold star on his chart. He is feeling pretty good in spite of the stress of poor business in a down economy, and usually makes good choices in what he eats and how often he exercises. I am very thankful!
