Fiber (with more coming!)

I finished the dark chocolate Pitt Island hoggett. Next fiber up: Romney. The Romney and one other fiber in the sampler Kathy sent are washed locks, not prepared fiber, so I need to flick-card it before I can spin.
Here is a lock:Here is the same lock after flick-carding. Am I the only one amazed at how much this stuff "grows"?
I left the sheep in this morning because it was cloudy and the shearer is coming this afternoon to give some of them haircuts. They were happy enough while "bellying up to the bar," but after the grain was gone they were wondering, "What gives?"By the way, the wire in that gate they are standing at used to be my "skirting table." I'm going to have to figure out something else to use - quick!

That's it for now from . . .

Wow, I think you might have finally gotten me out of my fiber slump. I think it's high time I pulled out the ol' spinning wheel (even though I don't have all those fun packages of fiber to play with). Thanks!

So are you done shearing? We would have loved to have sheared this weekend but still too cold. We are supposed to get up to freezing today. Brrr!

It is amazing isnt it! I have a romeldale/romney (well you know about that from posts on my blog lol) that I have to seperate into 1 inch or less pieces to be able to flick it, it grows so much!
So you have a moorit fleece reserved for me right? ;-)

Michelle, do you have any mini combs? I love mine - much more than my hand cards - because I prefer that prep for spinning. I have a flick carder, but reall prefer the combs. I have Forsythe Minis and also Forsythe 4-pitch. They are at www.woolcombs.com if you want to take a look :-)
