Pinch me; I must be dreaming!

This afternoon Brian rode with Rick. For the first time in awhile there was nothing that HAD to be done, so I took a good friend's advice (she of the wondrous handknit socks - made of SUPERWASH wool, no less!) and took time for ME. Brace yourself: Russell and I got to go out dancing (I schooled my dressage horse) and I got reacquainted with Louie Two (I used my spinning wheel). I didn't actually spin, but started plying the single from Allena's glorious glitzy batt and the single from the supremely silky Suri alpaca top I received as a sample from Ann Mayes. This is going to be the softest yarn I've spun to date, thanks to the luscious fiber.
My guys are back now, so duty resumes. But I am facing it with a lightness of heart I haven't felt in awhile.

That's great you got some time to yourself to do the things you enjoy. It keeps your sanity. ) (I was hoping to see pics of you riding Russell!)

I envy/admire your ability to do dressage. I once had a little Arabian mare who moved like silk and was like riding a jet stream that I would have loved to do it with but never had the time or money for the lessons.

It truly is poetry in motion and you and Russell have accomplished SO much. You should be very proud!

Those are really cool socks! I would really love running off with one of those!

The woman doesn't have any talent. She never makes socks or much of anything except crappy biscuits for me. I don't have the heart to tell her exactly how crappy they are.

Oh, well done on getting some slone time :-) And you didn't even have to come to the City to get it! That yarn looks lovely - can't wait to see what you make from it.

I was hoping for pics of you riding Russel or Brian riding too! :) Glad you got some time to yourself, it comes to me every now and then too. Doesn't it feel great when you actually accomplish something?!
PS: I crocheted a scarf for my MIL out of alpaca yarn, a nice rich brown for Christmas. She is crazy about alpacas, now maybe she'll have something close to them. ;) Knitting is a whole new world to me... I'm lucky I can crochet.

Now how am I supposed to take photos of myself riding? Besides, with my limited time in the saddle the last few months, it probably didn't look that great. I don't care, it just felt good to be "dancing" again!

Everybody needs time for themselves, especially busy moms. Glad you took some.

Dave, that might produce video of my horse's ears, or the sand going by underfoot, but I don't think that's what people were hinting that they wanted to see. :-)
