Of snow and sheep and snow and sheep

Yesterday morning we awoke to a dusting of snow on the deck and grass. It was beautiful while it lasted, but even more beautiful was the sight of my hero-guys cleaning out the Sheep Sheraton and the ewes enjoying green grass!

That's a LOT of soiled bedding added to the manure pile! The Sheraton is now bedded with fresh straw and the lambing jug is in place for Vienna and Sarai. I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed that both deliver before we leave for a week at the end of the month....
By late Sunday afternoon a "wintery mix" was falling again,

and this morning we awoke to a bit more than a dusting! Brian's school announced a two-hour snow delay because there was as much snow on the valley floor as there was up on our hill. All in all, a most unusual state of affairs for our area on this date!

This morning I finally nabbed Benny to change his coat, afraid that it might explode if I waited any longer. I didn't get any good fleece shots, but I'm certain he is more comfortable without leg straps digging into his inner thighs!

That's it for now from . . .

It's certainly been an unusual winter.

I enjoyed seeing this this morning. It reminded me that it's time to clean out the barn stalls. :) It's a lot of work, but the soiled bedding becomes the basic ingredient of next year's compost.

Hooray for clean sheep sheds, especially when done by someone else! ;-)
You have had a crazy winter, but I think all the moisture is better than none these days.

I think most of us have just experienced an unusual winter. Makes you wonder what this summer will bring . . .

The snow looks very lovely in your photos. Hope you can get more firewood to warm yourself up! :)
