It wasn't a typical day. Rick came home after taking Brian to school to do some vet work (hurray; the cobbler's kids got shoes!) – Lance needed his mouth checked and his teeth floated; both horses needed vaccinations; and my ram needed a squinty eye looked at (big, nasty grass seedhead removed). Then Rick asked me if I wanted to ride along on a call with him. That took most of the day, so this evening he helped me with a project that I set aside to be with him – another seven quarts of applesauce are now cooling on the counter.
That's it for today from . . .

I love that - sky flambé! I love your photographs... It sounds like a very productive day. I have apples standing by for applesauce, but I hope they can hold, as I won't be able to tackle them for a while.
We don't have even a teeny view of the sunrise on our property here. Which always makes me kinda sad since I'm such a morning person. But we're seriously considering taking down some really tall trees on the east side of our property so the gardens won't be so shaded in the mornings. Wonder if I'll be able to see the sunrise then?
Good choice to go on the call with Rick. Sometimes when my dear husband asks me to go along (somewhere) with him, I have to force myself to drop what I'm doing at home . . . but then realize that's always the right decision. And that Rick helped you with the applesauce that night? Priceless!
The sunrise shots are truly magnificent!!! *sigh* What a master artist our Lord is...
Susan, my apples have been on stand-by for awhile; they got softer and sweeter, so it worked out well!
Mama Pea, can you get a sunrise view within walking distance? I think I'd keep my trees and let the promise of a sunrise lure me out for a morning walk for a win-win. As for Rick, I was surprised and delighted when he helped me; usually when I go with him I just get further behind.
Yes, indeed, Lorie!
Wow - amazing start to your day! Fresh applesauce... Yum!! Must go get some some apples and try :-)
Sounds like a very nice day :-).
