Shadows and sunshine
The hen died this morning. Annie still can't rise by herself. We got her up four times today; once up she gets around okay and is interested in eating. Brian didn't feel well today, so we didn't go to his violin lesson. That gave me unexpected time at home on a beautiful Monday afternoon to let the girls out to graze awhile. Grace.

How nice to have a little unexpected time - my thoughts are with you and Annie. I had such a hard time letting my Flora go, but when the time came, she let me know. While this part of shepherding is very hard, there are so many joyous moments.
I'm so sorry Michelle. At least the old gal can rest now, and is at peace. I agree with Susan. This is the hardest part of caretaking and loving animals, but the many joyous moments they give us, makes it all worthwhile.
Oh, thanks again for coming to my rescue!
