Wonderful photos! What is the flower in the second photo?

Those are Centaurea montana, or a variety of perennial cornflower or bachelor's button (I have them in blue/purple, too).

Love the photos, especially the fireworks, which I didn't see this year! Oh, be on the lookout for an email from me... I just took out my first fleece (not Bart's) and I have some technical questions about what to do about the VM...
Hugs and enjoy your weekend my friend,

Great fireworks pictures and yes, the raspberry pictures were torture! They are so pricy in the store I haven't bought any yet - I have a dessert dish I want to make tho...

Kale - tried it once, didn't like it at all - maybe it wasn't cooked right - I felt like I was eating thistles!! :-) T.
