That's what Instagram feels like, but it sure is better than nothing. Without it I'd feel creatively constipated, i.e. "no output" – ha!
Life continues coming at me faster than I can regularly document it here (never mind my horse blog /-:). In addition, Brian has needed my laptop more and more for homework, leaving me short on access as well as time. This evening I'm determined to share some of the backlog, but rather than doing it in one ginormous, disjointed post, I'm going to serve it up in "courses." ;-)
First up: a tasty little Fair Isle appetizer (and announcement). This was my travel knitting, and went to Nebraska and back, and then to the Oregon coast for a women's retreat and back. I finished it at the coast yesterday, and my friend Kate modeled it so I could get these photos:
I'm really thrilled with my first foray into Fair Isle! It's not perfect, but I learned a lot and it busted some stashed leftovers (both handspun and commercial yarn). The pattern is Sheep Heid, and my colorful version will hopefully make one of my blog readers a very happy winner of my lambing contest. ;-)
I don't have anything else on the needles right now; it's tempting to dig up some more leftovers and cast on another of the above!
Stay tuned for the next course.

Lambikins
Well, today didn't end up being wet and I didn't have more time (yep; same ol' 24 hours), so here I am staying up too late just to give you a cuteness overdose. ;-)
In the meantime, Bree is getting needier as she gets bigger,
and I noticed that her little sister is walking and standing differently.
So I caught her and investigated. No-longer-the-baby-Babette is pregnant! =:-O
More lambs to come at . . .

Tongue-out Tuesday
That's what Babette thinks about losing her title of "the baby of Boulderneigh." This morning she was especially cuddly . . . I think she was jealous of the attention being heaped upon Brigitte and Bardot. Photos of that tomorrow, when I have more time and it's raining.
If you prefer "Teefers Tuesday" (like thecrazysheeplady, Sara), hop over to Boulderneigh's Instagram to see some!

Sorry for the silence!
We flew back into Portland this morning, soaring over snow-capped peaks sparkling in the sunshine and driving home through vibrant green and blossom-brilliant landscape. Oh, how good it is to be home!
I took my laptop with me but there was no wi-fi where we stayed so I couldn't post here. I posted plenty to Instagram, so if you'd like to see some photos from our trip, you can click on that blue Instagram bar over there on the right.
We took Brian straight to school (much to his dismay; he thought he was getting another day off), then came home. After unloading the car and starting a load of laundry, I changed and headed to the barn to see my critters. The horses got turned out into the arena to run and roll, and the ewes and lambs got turned out to pasture to experience sunshine, green grass, and communal living for the first time.
My sweet lambs! They are all doing well, not changed as much as I expected after missing most of their short lives so far. The neighbor who graciously agreed to come up every 2-3 hours to bottle-feed Brigitte kept me informed of her progress via text message; after the first two days, Brigitte quickly transitioned to getting all her nourishment from Sarai. She's still a loud-mouth, and very friendly. :-D
That last photo is of Vienna's handsome son; I didn't get a good photo of his twin sister. She's darker brown and has a moon spot on her left shoulder. I'll keep trying. ;-)
As always, I have lots of photos from our trip to sort and share, which may or may not get done. Seems the past gets shoved to the back burner by the immediacy of the moment.
And the immediacy of THIS moment is watching the end of To Kill A Mockingbird with my son for English class. Sobering. Heartbreaking. And frighteningly foreshadowing of too many current events and attitudes.
