Our cutie Popp-pootie

Poppy was back on leash the end of this week because she invited herself to the neighbors' twice on Thursday – just before I needed to leave for work and just before we needed to leave for agility class, the turkey. I can't really blame her, though; in the morning the neighbors' dogs were running up and down our fence line just begging Poppy to come over and play. Anyway, having her on lead gave me the chance to show you our industrious little firewood hauler because she couldn't race off ahead with her prize:

I also got photos of her modeling her new harness (with neoprene-lined straps and reflective stitching) and winter coat. She has a fleece coat she wears in the house when it's cool, but it's not good for outdoor wear because it collects weeds and seeds. This new one is made much like a heavy horse blanket, with lots of great features. And if it was REALLY cold, I could put it over her fleece coat.

Yesterday when I was taking her on a potty walk in the upper pasture, I came upon this unexpected, perfect clump of daffodils. Why is it that untended flowers sometimes do better than those in flower beds???

The monthly spinning challenges on Ravelry's Jenkins Turkish spindle forum have been keeping my fingers busy for over a year now. Here are photos of last month's project (first four photos) and this month's project (last four photos), both beautiful braids of fiber from Mosaic Moon in Ashland, OR gifted to me by an incredibly generous blogpal. I am completely hooked on ply-on-the-fly (POF) for dyed fiber now!

That's it for now from . . .

Those two photos of Poppy looking out the glass door make her look so big. Has she reached her full stature already or am I really seeing her get bigger? The unattended lovely blooms are just like the vegetables that grow from an "unplanted" seed in the compost heap or elsewhere. So much bigger and beautiful than those planted in the garden proper.

She is full-grown, Mama Pea. Conceivable that she may get 'thicker' with age (don't we all?!?), but not taller. I actually need to measure her height for agility class....

Poppy looks sooo beautiful as she looked out the window! She's certainly a lovely dog! I got a chuckle out of her lugging her piece of tree branch!

My sweet sister nearly had a heart attack yesterday, when her Cavalier King Charles spaniel got out the door when the wind blew it open! He took off running right across the busy street! Thankfully the neighbor saw him, called him, and Winston went right to him! Three cars and trucks go so fast past her house! So scary!

Love those daffodils!

Yes, what Elaine said. Your spindle spinning rivals anything I can do on my wheel :-)

Thank you both, Elaine and Adrienne; it comes from lots of practice and well-prepared fiber! It's not 'perfect,' though; there are thick and thin spots, etc. (or 'perfect' I could go to a yarn store). I can't remember the last time I used a wheel....

Jeanne, yesterday we went for a walk and Poppy picked up a good-sized piece of board and carried it the last mile home! (Posted photos of that on my Instagram and FB accounts; you can click on the Instagram button at right to see it without an account, I'm pretty sure.) And this morning, Poppy somehow got through our eastern fence line for the first time, and I had to go chasing after her. Not nearly as bad as a busy road, but potential trouble nonetheless.

Well! I tried to check out your Instagram account, and my 'puter wouldn't let me "in"! Claimed it wasn't secure! Phooey!
