The colors in this morning's sunrise,
carried over into my barberpole gradient yarn. While skeining it this afternoon, I decided it looks more like Skittles candy than flames:
Better light and Rick's latest vessel, shaped like a giant goblet, invited a second photo shoot to show off my next colorful spinning project:
Jackson, backlit and beautiful:
Chuckie, just emerged from his cozy hay cave:
Black oil sunflower seeds give this family (a third is on the far side of the feeder) an energy boost during our "cold" spell.
That's it for now from . . .

Oh those little bandits, with the BOSS! The spinning looks lovely. I just picked up some roving by a local dyer. Always a pleasure to see the handsome Jackson.
The animals . . . sweet. The colors . . . GORGEOUS!!!!
Beautiful colors in the sky , yarn, and roving! And such a lovely vessel!
That yarn is beautiful! Lovely photographs of Jackson (sweetheart) and Chuckie (darling). I'm not a fan of raccoons, although I will tolerate them unless they get too close to my chickens and quail!
You may regret letting the raccoons move in :-/. They sure are cute though.
Theresa, I am getting so much pleasure from my colorful gifts, and can't believe I'm getting to both braids so quickly instead of letting them languish!
Thanks, Mama Pea!
I'll pass on the compliments, Becky. This is a new shape from Rick!
Rick and I both had short-term pet raccoons when we were younger, Susan, so I'll admit to a soft spot for them. (It helps that they've never done more here than eat cat food and sunflower seeds!)
Sara, they live all around us but I don't encourage them intentionally. The cat food is kept in the inaccessible tack room, and I'm doing my best to put only enough black oil sunflower seed to last the birds through the daytime.
