...and round.

Yep, another snow day. However, Brian's handbell choir is still leaving for Washington this afternoon for a big 'do,' so I will have to drive him into town. If he doesn't get his rear in gear (it's an "e-day" for high school), he's going on the trip without his cell phone (GASP); that seems to be one of the few leverage tools we have anymore.

The wind died down sometime in the night and we only got a couple more inches of snow, but it ended up in a lot of covered places it doesn't normally land, like the chicken yard and our porch. The hens refuse to set foot in the white stuff, but there were tracks on the porch this morning:

This varied thrush was poofed-up in the cherry tree outside our bedroom window this morning.

The hummers have nectar, and the birdfeeder is freshly filled with black oil sunflower seeds.

I hadn't noticed how big the daffodils had gotten; they even have buds!

Brian brought Sprite out to the great room while he did schoolwork. She thoroughly enjoyed herself, preening, flying, and interacting with him and with me. She's a sweet little feathered jewel, and I was glad for the photo and video opps. I'll share just one image here, and save the rest for a separate, special Sprite post. 😁

That's it for now from . . .

Your dogs don't look too upset by the snow. I'm betting the hummingbird might be a bit though. Brian's bird friend is gorgeous!

Love Brian's Tweety! The snow seems to send a signal to the daffodils, that it's time to bloom!

Wow. Another beautiful pet! Sprite. As a child I had a green parakeet. They can be such fun creatures. And I bet that Chuckie would LOVE Sprite too. Hahaha. All I can say is with all these critters, thank God you are married to a Vet!!

What a lovely, lovey bird! I hope that Brian was suitably motivated to get moving on time. I guess there are benefits to cell phones, no? Love the pic of your two sweet pups, racing through the snow!

Mama Pea, Jackson LOVES the snow; Dozer tolerates it fine, but doesn't want to stay out and PLAY in it.

We don't get snow every winter, wyomingheart; good thing the daffodils will bloom anyway. ;-)

Elaine, yes, Sprite is another reason Chuckie can't be a housecat. And yes, I am thankful for the in-house vet care, even if he is not a specialist in all the species.

Sara, we've had a house-bird for almost all the years we've been married! First was Noel, a white dove; we left her with bird-loving neighbors when we moved from MN. Then I got Emma, a peach-faced lovebird, who lived for 18 years and was a special pet of mine. After she died, Brian convinced me to get a parakeet that was advertised on Freecycle. Olivia was never friendly, and died unexpected after a few years. Then we got Sprite from a local breeder in 2016; she has been Brian's special pet and lives mostly in his bedroom.

Susan, he made it – barely. Too bad he can't be inspired to move by the dogs.... ;-)
