Timber!

We DID make it to the beach, and it was wonderful! But I came home to a sad sight;
Rick had cut down my doomed Japanese maple, leaving a shocking stump to greet me. ;-(  Thankfully, I have several replacements to choose from. I need to refresh my memory on the qualities of each to make the best choice for this spot; Rick still needs to pull the stump.

That's it for today from . . .

So much rain in the Pacific Northwest! Wow. That's why it's so lush. I hope the new tree will be a good one to watch and nurture.

Ouch! It is always sad to lose a tree. Can't wait to see what you come up with!

You'll miss that beautiful little tree. It's good that this climate has so many wonderful trees, which can make it hard to narrow down to the best, wisest choice.

The loss of a tree is painful. We've lost a couple and since they're much harder to grow here, it's like losing a friend. It takes time to get over since they're a big item on our landscape. Sorry :(
