Daddy-O

Blake was sheared at a difficult point in the rise this spring, so I knew I needed to do some scissor-trimming of his fleece. Then I noticed his coat was getting tight. Still, I probably wouldn't have made time to address those issues before our trip if he hadn't busted a leg strap last Thursday. That forced my hand; I couldn't leave him to get tangled in his coat, nor did I want to just remove it and let his fleece get trashed. So Friday I addressed the above plus a needed pedicure, and took some photos of this fall's man of the hour as well.
Blake was a complete gentleman from start to finish. He let me walk right up to him and put the halter on, led nicely out to where I wanted to work on him, and showed he appreciated a chin and brisket scratch with wags of his woolly tail. As I drooled over his lovely fleece, I gave thanks for the reminder of the treasure in my own backyard, and started anticipating the next Shepherd's Christmas.

That's it for now from . . .
