It wasn't just the weather, although it was magical. The vibrant colors, the dynamic sky show of constantly changing clouds, tonight's giant sliver of a moon beside the bright evening star; I felt high on beauty all day long.
With all that beauty I saw photo opportunities everywhere, although most images are recorded only on the memory card of my mind. I was rather pleased with these shots of Blake, though; they are just what I was going for. (Which one do you like best?)
My sight wasn't the only sated sense. For lunch I made this with kale, Swiss chard, carrots, parsley, basil, garlic chives, and yellow pear tomatoes from our garden. Oh my; even my son gave it two enthusiastic thumbs-up!
How about touch? My hands are just itching to cast on with this:
I washed the shortest skein of Browning's yarn today so I can get started on Brian's requested fingerless mitts and stocking cap. In spite of the hours I spent with that fiber and as imperfect as my resulting two-ply is, I am still utterly charmed by it.
Days like today are a precious gift, and fleeting. A little taste of heaven, perhaps, to make us hungry for more?
Lord, I'm working up an appetite at . . .

Well, I like the first pic and the love the looks of that yarn. LUCKY Brian, those mitts and hat will be so special I know.
I love them both, but if I had to choose, I prefer the second photo! That yarn is awesome; isn't that the beauty of hand-made? Perfectly imperfect!
I wonder if we aren't given a really good day after a really bad day as a reward for having made it through the trials and tribulations? Glad things are on the up-swing for you!
I like the second picture of Blake. The first one almost looks menacing and spooky (although I know the dear boy is not!), but the second makes me think of a happy, healthy animal greeting you at dawn's first light. (No doubt looking for breakfast!)
The second one. The salad looks awesome. Your yarn is gorgeous and will knit up perfect :-).
Both pictures are wonderful. I prefer picture number 2. Blake looks like he enjoys getting his picture taken.
I love the salad you made, nothing beats a salad made from items directly from the garden.
I love the second photo. Love the way the sunlight is playing on his head and face. What lovely yarn!!
I like the first one. He hasn't acknowledged you quite as much yet. It's more natural.
This weather is so beautiful right now. Summer has taken it's leave and we are in that beautiful transition called Fall. My camera calls me too.
I have some fleece calling my name. Time for some felting.
Happy Autumn...
I like the first picture - it makes him look mysterious! As to your spinning, if you wanted perfect yarn, you'd buy it! It's beautifully done.
That kale dish looks really good, but now that I'm taking Coumadin, it's off my menu. All my favorite vegies seem to contain Vitamin K :-( T.
