What is that dark green I can see through the leaves from the front door?
Rick and Brian got all the metal siding they had (Rick miscalculated) installed on Sunday, two and a half sides worth. There is still much to do to complete it, but it looks like something now.
As does my sweater. I tried it on Friday to determine the length needed, and knit on. Before Sunday ended, the body was completed. I have two skeins left, one for each sleeve; perfect!
I went with green for Monday supper, too, making vegan Pozole Verde for the first time, with zucchini from this year's garden and some dehydrated tomatillos from a previous year's harvest. Brian and I like it; Rick wasn't thrilled. C'est la vie.
There is vibrant green in the landscape, even though fall colors tend to take center stage this time of year.

"Miscalculated." Dan and I have a running joke that every project requires at least three trips to the home improvement store for that very reason. Or three trips to the auto supply store for every fix. I really like the green for the siding though. It's coming along!

I'm glad Rick isn't the only one, Leigh! And I'm glad I didn't miscalculate on yarn for my sweater, because there is no store to which I could run for more yarn (or roving to make it, since it is from a long-shuttered business).
Things are moving right along!! Hopefully they will be able to get the rest of the siding quickly/easily. The sweater is gorgeous, Michelle, and it fits you perfectly!!

Your sweater is going to be beautiful!!! Your yarn looks like the perfect one for the pattern. Is it as soft and cuddly as it looks? I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.
The trees you pictured are beautiful! Can you tell me the name of the one in the second to last picture? The color is fabulous!

I'm glad you like the color, Jeanne; it was my choice as "most likely to blend in instead of stick out." The tree you asked about is a Japanese maple that was here when we bought this place in 1995, so I don't know the variety. We had to move it when we built our house in 2001; I'm so glad it continues to do well! š
