F Y I, no foolin'

I have an overwhelming backlog of photos and events
to post here to my 'online farm/life journal.'

But.

Current life demands

exacerbated by

a combined absence of over four weeks

plus

a chronic lack of quality sleep

shadowed by

my parents' situation

and

the storm clouds of national and international drama

perhaps unwisely seasoned with

my choices of audiobooks

. . .

render me incapable of posting more than this:

Spring is springing;

three lambs are thriving;

two old sheep are with us no more.

That's it for now from . . .

Good to see this update from you, Michelle. Hang in there . . . and be cautious of your selection of audio books! I've found that about all I can handle right now are those of either the upbeat or light-weight fluff kind! (My dear husband handles more than half our share of the other ones of which I believe you speak.) :o\

Mama Pea, please give me your recommendations for upbeat/lightweight fluff audiobooks! All the books I've heard have been good (excellent), but whether they be about amazing animals (Wesley the Owl, The Soul of an Octopus, Alex & Me), history (Frederick Douglass, The Zookeeper's Wife) historical novels (All the Light We Cannot See, The Tattooist of Auschwitz), or fantasy (C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy, The Last Battle, and Till We Have Faces), they all seem to make statements about the sad state of humanity.

Dang!

Don’t worry about us here. Focus all your energies (the very few that you have left) on what really counts. We will be here when you return. And we will be thinking of you for sure.

Hugs!

Dear Michelle - I'm so glad that you had time to write a little bit. I know your life is very difficult during this time. I wish I could help. I continue to pray for all of your family, especially for you.

I'm sorry about your two old sheep. That has to be painful too.

Hang in there, dear girl! Know that many are praying for you.

God's blessings -

I'm so sorry you're being overwhelmed right now. Tie a knot in the end of that rope and hang on for dear life. I hope things will get better in many fronts soon. Hugs, dear girl.

Good to have the update. Completely understand your situation.

Book suggestions: Anything P.G. Wodehouse. I especially like the Jeeves and Wooster series. Get the ones read by Jonathan Cecil. He is the definitive voice! Sarcastic, subtle, manipulative Jeeves the Gentleman's Gentleman operates in spite of Bertie Wooster - the rich kid with no brains. Jeeves always provides a smile. I'd suggest starting with "My Man Jeeves" (I get mine from Hoopla Digital through my library. I'm sure most library services have this, too. Free - I'm cheap!)

Cheers!

I am, Debbie; that's all I can do.

Elaine, I keep putting one foot in front of the other, and loving on cute lambs.

Thank you for the prayers and care, Jeanne.

Sue, I'm beginning to think things will never get 'better,' but I'll keep hanging on.

Thanks for the specific recommendations, Tim. My library app (Libby) didn't have the Woodhouse books read by Jonathan Cecil, but I've saved them to my "to listen" folder anyway.

Young adult books are a great place to look, especially Newberry awards. Highly recomment The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents and The Wee Free Men by Prachett. The Wild Robot, Mrs. Frisby and the Rat of NIMH, The Remarkable Journey of Coyote Sunrise, A Home for Goddesses and Dogs, The Truth as Told By Mason Buttle, All Rise for the Honorable Perry T. Cook, A Grown Up Guide to Dinosaurs, Molly MacRae's haunted yarn store series are fun and light. Some favorite grown up books are A Man Called Ove, My Grandmother Asked Me to Apologize (sometimes translated other ways), Anxious People. Don't get caught up with the narrators on these. They are purposely a bit obnoxious and it's for a reason you will fall in love with and the stories will resonate. A truly fun and completely original story is Nothing To See Here. That reader does an amazing job and I've laughed with that story several times now.

Thanks, Tim!

I'll bookmark ALL of those, Sara; I appreciate the recommendations!
