Right on cue

Yesterday was warm – in the 80s. Last night felt balmy, like the summer evening it was – the last summer evening of the year. Yay! 😁

This morning fall kicked uff with a lovely sunrise. I took a couple shots off the deck, then took Poppy out for a potty walk. As I rounded the north side of the house, there was Mt. Hood surrounded by glorious color. Score!

The rest of the day was mostly cloudy and cooler. I had a haircut scheduled for noon in nearby Amity, so Poppy and I left early so she could have a playdate with her sister Penny. Yes, this is how Deckers do fun  (this, and running FAST). 🤣

We're not quite through with summer weather, which is good because I need to pick bush beans, tomatoes, and basil. But next week looks like sweater weather!

Welcoming the change of seasons at . . .

Going into my favorite 2 seasons - fall and winter. Leaving my least favorite season - summer.

I'm with you on summer - best seen in the rear view mirror! I've started splitting some wood for the shop stove, and have promised myself I WILL clean off the garden completely now that it is getting cooler. Cheers

Your sunrises are somethings to be cherished, for sure! We are cooler here on the ridge, but the garden is still giving us bounty, and we are thankful! I did get the fall display started this week, with my bales of straw placed, and the pumpkins set out, but due to rain, we haven’t set out the scarecrows yet. Fall is my favorite season, and we have been putting up PawPaw, Persimmons, and the black walnut harvest is starting to show signs … always busy busy busy ! Mommy always said,” busy hands are happy hands!”

Amen, Elaine!

We've got tons of wood, Tim (probably literally!), but not enough cured and dry enough for this winter so more work to do!

Oh, you're one of those lovely people who decorate for the seasons, wyomingheart. I manage a little for Christmas and that's it! The saying I grew up with is similar: "Idle hands are the devil's workshop."

We actually had to turn the heat on for a bit this morning, down to 48 here last night and it got cool inside the house. I have mixed feelings about the seasons changing. We've had such a mild summer that I wouldn't mind those temps hanging around for a while. And, the time seems to be just rushing by faster than my mind can accept. I'd like to just hit the pause button for a good long while.

Oh, my! Those were some fabulous sunrises you got to see! Makes me wish we could be so blessed, with some like that, too.

Poppy and Penny were really having a great time, weren't they!! Did Poppy get to stay there while you went to get your haircut?

I think it's going to be cool here next week, also. And we have had to have the heat on a couple of times already. It seems strange that we had to do that right before the end of summer.

Another fall and winter lover here! Glad to see your skies clear - this cooler weather must be such a blessing. Oh, the savage beasties! LOL!
