Soft like the focus of this photo.
Soft like putty in the paws of our affectionate barn cat – which you might notice is not in the barn.
It was still pitch dark yesterday morning when I arose and went to the living room to have worship. In short order, my quiet reverie was interrupted by a most piteous mewing, first at the front door and then at the deck door. I tried to ignore it, but like I said, I'm soft. I went to the deck door, scooped Chuckie up, and sat down for a love-fest. That seemed to sate him, for all was quiet after I put him back outside . . . until last night . . . and this morning. But I didn't bring him inside again; we spent our quality time at the barn at chore times.
Don't worry; there's still time and attention left for the dogs.
No pretty sunrises the last couple days, but the low clouds creeping up the hill this morning caught my eye:
Speaking of soft, I finished this gift-knit:
It's borderline too big for me; hopefully it will fit the recipient.
This evening I cast on a new project – or four:
Any guesses about what I'm making? (No, I'm not making tip-down gloves.)
That's it for tonight from . . .

GREAT. It's past my bedtime and someone is me-OW-ing at the deck door again....
LOL, that's how it starts. Chuckie is such a love bug.
You are starting little hats for tree decorations? The owl hat is fabulous!
You know there is a sweater that uses that pattern also. I think it's a pullover because if it was a cardi I might be tempted....
This cat would be darn near perfect if he knew how to use the box!! My current cat is not a lap cat - affectionate but not interested in sitting on me. I miss that.
I TOTALLY LOVE that hat! Lucky person! What is the pattern.
Looks like elf hats to me. You must know a whole family of them!
My guess (for reasons not even I can figure out) is that they are going to be little mushrooms and these are the caps. lol
Nope, not hats, Theresa and Sylvia. ;-)
RK, here's the pattern link on Ravelry: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/owl-hat-30
Helen, they aren't mushroom caps, either, but your guess is warmer than the others!
I suspect Chuckie is a house cat at heart. :)
Chuckie is not going to be content to be a barn cat. In his heart he knows he belongs in the house. A people cat through and through.
Awww, Chuckie needs to be an inside/outside cat! How do the dogs react to him (and he to them) when he's inside?
I was going to guess finger puppet people for your yarn project, but if the start isn't little hats that wouldn't be right. Hmmmm . . .
I love Chuckie! I wonder of the project is the start of booties for Chuckie... Lol!
Leigh, that may be the desire of his heart, but his missed the class on litterboxes, and I don't have mice in the house.
The that end I try to love on him as much as possible, Wanda!
Mama Pea, the dogs accept him just fine, and he's quite bold with them. And no, not finger puppet people, or anything else for fingers.
Wyomingheart, he has his own booties! ;-)
Of course you are a softie. That is one of the many reasons we love you. I wouldn't be able to resist Chuckie, so I am glad he is in Oregon and not Upstate NY. Besides, Slimmie has just settled into being the Only Cat and is quite happy. Oh, I love that hat! Can you give me the name of the pattern? On the mystery knits, acorns? xo
Ding ding ding; we have a WINNER! Susan, you guessed correctly; I'm making woolly acorns. And for guessing correctly, I'll send you a little cache of your own, once I get them done. (The Ravelry link to the owl hat is in one of my comments above.)
I think you're making those little acorns! And it does sound like Chuckie wants to be with the rest of the pack INside the house . . .
And LOLOL I just realized that someone else guessed the acorns first! :-D I didn't read the comments before I posted my own :-)
I woulldn't have guessed acorns for the tiny projects. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished ones!
The hat is beautiful!
