It started with fog that lasted just long enough for lovely atmosphere, before giving way to magnificent thunderheads illuminated by the morning sun.
Clouds of many kinds created beautiful skyscapes all day long,
coloring up for a grand finale at sunset. I thought about hurrying up the hill for the best view of the show, but chose to keep getting my horse tacked and warmed up for a ride. My reward for heading for the arena instead of up the hill?
And looking up towards our house:
Summer, you almost redeemed yourself – almost. ;-)
SO ready for fall at . . .

What a blessed relief that must have been! I hope that the fires are just a bad memory and that you are back to your normal weather again. Whatever normal is these days. Lovely photographs, as always.
It's hard to forgive summer, but that rainbow does go a long way ;-).
We can all use more good days from start to finish! Hope this one was the start of many this fall for you Michelle.
Summer did redeem itself, just a bit.....now, let's welcome fall!!
Your photos of the clouds are amazing.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I don't know about total redemption, but it certainly did put on a show for you! Wow!
Happy Fall Michelle! It certainly does feel good, even to this summer loving gal. The summer of 2017 will go down as relentlessly hot, dry and smokey, and one of very little riding and no camping for me. :(
Michelle, it's all good when you wake up above ground..lol. I'm getting settled in, slowly but surely and waiting for needed rain. Although, Kathy, Cedar Pond in eastern Washington hasn't had rain for 80 days! I cannot imagine! Glad you had a good ride, be safe out there.
