Eclipsed!
We were blessed to live in "the path of totality." One million visitors were expected to flood the central swath of Oregon to witness this celestial event, and we didn't have to go anywhere! I alternated between looking through my eclipse glasses, and pointing my camera through a lens of the glasses and looking at the viewfinder. My modest little Panasonic Lumix didn't do too bad at capturing some memorable moments. ;-)
The changes in the color and intensity of light fascinated me. This photo looks like early sunset, but the shadows are going in the wrong direction for that:

Wow. You were lucky. We were in the 80 percent area and even with that ... we had mostly clouds. Only a small amount of shading. Would not have noticed anything different normally. Great pictures.
We didn't get anywhere near the total effect that you did - wonderful photographs!
Wasn't it a wonderful experience? We were in totality here for almost 2 minutes. Loved every second of the whole thing. I'm glad you got some pictures to mark the event.

We got about 99.6% here... security lights came on, birds stopped flying...but it was amazing how much light there was with just a sliver of sun.

You captured some awesome photos! Here in northern Minnesota, we had heavy cloud cover which didn't really change during the whole event. I felt sorry for folks who spent money to get to a location where it was hyped to be spectacular . . . but wasn't because of uncooperative weather conditions.

Wonderful pics! We were only about 93%. It did not get dark and the smoke was awful.
You got 100% too! Wasn't it great. Your photos look like mine (on my blog header :) but I didn't get as many. Such a once in a lifetime experience. Truly amazing.

Amazing pictures Michelle - you were in the right place at the right time! Here, they said the sky darkened very slightly around 2 pm. I didn't notice at all. There is another totality in 202? (I forget) that is supposed to be right over our province, so maybe I'll see that one.
I'm glad you got some pictures to mark the event.
