After needing chains to get down our hill on Friday morning, we almost needed a boat once off our hill yesterday! There was already "a river running through it" when I went out for morning chores,
and the rain didn't let up all day. After Rick limped home* from an afternoon of wood-turning at a client's house, I dashed into town to pick up feed, navigating several spots where water covered the road.
*The "limping"? The clutch went out in Rick's vet truck yesterday. He managed to start it in first gear and crawl home, but now it sits in our driveway, "dead in the water" so to speak. Oh, and now he's come down with some feverish, miserable bug that Brian and I are desperately hoping to NOT get. A heavy load of stress is not helping our immune systems....
But the sun did make a cameo appearance this afternoon,
and I grabbed the brass ring by jumping on my copper pony for our first ride since his diagnosis of COPD and subsequent beginning of treatment. It was, in a word, WONDERFUL.

That's a whole heap of rain. Mud season here you go. We're having snow right now, about 8" of the not so fluffy white stuff. Glad you got a ride on your handsome red steed!
Oh no. COPD for your pony. A sweet looking animal. How old is he? How did you find out he had this condition? What is the prognosis?
Sorry you're dealing with so much rain. Since Friday we've been hit with snow and more snow coming.

I'm behind on the other blog and missed this about Lance's COPD until just now. Crap. :-S
It's raining here off and on, too. This morning while I was meditating, a gentle thunderstorm rolled through with about 10 minutes of rain on the roof.
Ugh, sorry to hear about Lance's diagnosis and Rick's truck. And the bug he's brought home. If it ain't one thing . . .
The shot of your driveway looks like ours in the spring. We're forecast to get 6-12" of snow today (how's that for being specific --not!) and this is after we spent an extra 2 hours this morning after chores shoveling away drifts in paths, doorways, etc. after high winds last night. Oh, well. It's good exercise out in fresh air, right?
I am so glad you were able to get Lance diagnosed and in treatment - he is such a beautiful guy! I hope you do NOT catch whatever Rick has. It's hard to keep your immune system it tiptop shape when you're going through a stressful time. I hope the stress eases up soon. We had the full run of weather yesterday - snow, sleet, icy rain, and just plain rain. Tomorrow we are forecast for 6-10 inches of snow. Wheehaw.
I need to pay attention, I did not know Lance has COPD, I'm sorry. And the vet truck... yikes!
